Historic decision: Norway, Ireland and Spain recognizing a Palestinian state
Barcelona (Spain): Norway, Ireland and Spain, in a historic move, today recognized a Palestinian state, condemning Israel and bringing cheer among Palestinians. Israel has recalled its ambassadors from Norway and Ireland.
At the outset, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gehr Storr said there could be no peace in the Middle East unless Palestine was recognised as a separate country.
His country will officially recognize Palestine from May 28.
