Hundreds of migrants in a new caravan from Mexico set foot for the US border
Mexico City: A convoy of thousands of migrants from about a dozen countries walked from Mexico’s southern border to the US border. They tried to reach the US border. Some members of the group said they had walked with the hope of reaching the US border.
They want to cross the US border before the November election because they fear that if Donald Trump wins the presidential election, he will fulfill his promise to close the border to refugees.
“We fear that after winning the election, Donald Trump will stop allowing him to cross the border,” said Mizuel Salazar, an immigrant from El Salvador. She said she fears that the new Trump administration will stop the timings given to immigrants.
