Indian-origin man shot dead by teenage boy in US

Washington: A 36-year-old Indian-origin man has been shot dead by a teenager in the US state of North Carolina after robbing a store, police said. Manak Patel, the owner of a tobacco house store on 2580 Airport Road, died after a shooting incident, the Salisbury Post reported.

According to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, the minor boy has been taken into custody. The identity of the accused has not been revealed as he is a minor. Patel is survived by his seven-and-a-half-month pregnant wife Amy and a five-year-old daughter.
