International students protest against Algoma University in Canada
New Delhi: International students at Algoma University in Brampton, Canada, predominantly hailing from Punjab, have initiated an indefinite protest.
Allegations suggest that 130 students, all of whom are foreign, failed a single IT subject. The students are urging the university to pass them, permitting admission in the upcoming semester.
They argue having successfully completed 9 subjects and practicals for the Techniques of System Analyst course but facing failure in its written examination.
The professor responsible for these failures remains consistent, prompting the students to request another teacher to reassess the subject’s papers, leading to their decision to protest indefinitely.
