Jay Shah sworn in as new ICC chairman, youngest leader to assume charge

New Delhi: Jay Shah, secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has become the new chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Jay Shah will replace current ICC chairman Greg Barclay. New Zealand’s Greg Barclay’s term ends on November 30. Barclay held the position twice in a row.

Jay Shah will take over from December 1. August 27 was the last date for nominations to elect the new chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC). Apart from Jay Shah, no one has been nominated for the post till the stipulated time.

After this, the ICC Executive Board declared Jay Shah as the unopposed winner. 35-year-old Jay Shah has also become the youngest player to become the ICC chairman.
