Massive Drug and Weapon Bust in Canada: Punjab-Origin Suspect Arrested in Record-Breaking Raid
Toronto: In a major crackdown, the Western Saheli Organization of the Canadian Federal Police has dismantled a sophisticated drug superlab in the Vancouver area, seizing a massive haul of high-grade synthetic drugs and deadly weapons. Gurpreet Randhawa, believed to be the lab operator, was apprehended in the raid.
The operation netted record quantities of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and other illicit drugs, along with an arsenal of 89 firearms, including 45 handguns, 21 air-style rifles, and sub-machine guns. Police estimate the market value of the seized drugs in the millions of dollars.
According to Regional Assistant Commissioner of Police David Tabowl, these drugs—intended for sale in Canada and international markets—were capable of impacting nearly 95 million potential users worldwide. This bust, described as one of the largest in Canadian history, is being hailed as a major victory against international organized crime.
In addition to the drugs and weapons, authorities confiscated $500,000 in cash, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, bullet-proof jackets, and other tactical gear.
