Punjabi youth charged with 16 charges for stealing car and assaulting police in Canada
Punjab E News: A 24-year-old Indian-origin man has been charged with 16 counts in the Canadian state of Ontario for attempting to steal a vehicle and pepper-spraying on police. The accused has been identified as Rajbir Singh of Brampton.
Police said that on the evening of October 6, when the officer saw the vehicle with the suspicious number in the parking lot of the hotel, during questioning, the car driver tried to flee, causing damage to several vehicles.
The youth sprayed pepper on the police accused before they were caught. The officers sustained minor injuries and were treated by paramedics on the spot.
Meanwhile, police are also looking for another Punjabi, 26-year-old Gurpreet Singh, a resident of Brampton, who drove in a crowded parking lot to escape the police.
Earlier this month, Navjot Singh, 21, tried to snatch a vehicle before stealing a landscaping truck hours after he was released on bail in Newmarket town of Ontario.
