Question on ‘sex between Brother-Sister’ asked in university exam in Pakistan, receive backlash
New Delhi: A university in Pakistan has asked students their views on “sex between brother and sister”. The matter has now gained momentum and has triggered a controversy in the neighbouring country.
Several celebrities and student bodies criticised the question paper of Islamabad-based COMSATS University as “obscene”, while many shared screenshots of the question paper on social media platforms demanding clarification from the university vice-chancellor on the matter.
The students were given paragraphs in a question paper that contained a conversation between Julie and a character named Mark. After reading that paragraph, “The students had to write an essay. The paper was given to Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (BEE) students in December last year.
The paper had a paragraph related to a sibling which read: “Julie and Mark are brother and sister. They are traveling together in France in summer vacations from college. One night they were alone in a cabin near the beach. They decided it would be interesting if they had a relationship. It will be a new experience for both.”
Students were asked their thoughts about the whole scenario and whether it was okay for Julie and Mark to “love”.
