RBI moves 1 lakh kg of gold to India from Britain

New Delhi: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has brought back 100 tonnes, or 100,000 kg, of gold from the UK to India. However, transporting such a large amount of gold from London to New Delhi was not an easy task. It was not a job that could be completed in a day or two; it took months of meticulous planning and coordination.

The process required extensive time and perfect planning. Additionally, the consent and clearance of various agencies from both countries were necessary before the gold could be moved from Britain to India’s vaults.

According to a media report, RBI officials said that about 100 tonnes of gold will be brought to India in the coming days. It is reported that the RBI is increasing the amount of gold in the country’s treasury to maintain financial stability in the future.

Sources indicated that transporting 100 tonnes of gold to India was a significant challenge, requiring several months of detailed planning.
