Republican Harmeet Dhillon offers ‘Ardas’ in Trump’s presence at Republican National Convention

Washington: Civil rights attorney and Republican party leader Harmeet Dhillon today offered ‘ardas’ at the Republican National Convention in the presence of presidential candidate Donald Trump in Milwaukee.

“As a member of a Sikh migrant family, she should follow the practice of covering her head while offering prayers as a mark of respect,” she said.

She has previously served as vice chair woman of the California Republican Party. She said she had the honour of offering prayers which are usually performed by the Sikh community across the world before starting any new work.

This is done to thank God and to seek to help uphold values such as humility, truth and justice for all, she added.
