Strong winds disrupt 200 flights, over 40 diverted at airport

New Delhi: Around 200 flights were affected due to strong winds at the airport, while more than 40 flights were diverted to nearby airports. The disruption began late Friday evening as darkness and high-speed winds swept the area, continuing until 7 am on Saturday.

Passengers faced major inconvenience as repeated check-ins were required due to flight delays, leading to overcrowding and chaos at the airport.

Many travellers expressed frustration over the lack of clear communication and assistance.

Following the disruption, airlines including Air India and IndiGo issued advisories on X (formerly Twitter), alerting passengers about delays and advising them to check flight status before heading to the airport.
