Travel chaos in Paris after ‘malicious acts’ before the ceremony of Paris Olympics

Paris: There has been a tremendous uproar in France before the ceremony of the Paris Olympics, due to which the rail network has come to a standstill.

A statement from the French rail company said train operations were severely disrupted ahead of the Olympics due to “malicious acts” targeting several rail lines.

“This is a large-scale attack to sabotage the TGV network,” train operator SNCF told AFP, which led to the cancellation of several trains.

“SNCF was the victim of multiple simultaneous malicious acts overnight,” the national rail operator said, affecting its Atlantic, Northern and Eastern lines. Traffic on the affected lines was “severely disrupted” and the situation would continue over the weekend due to repair work.
