Trump, Putin discuss Ukraine ceasefire in two-hour phone call

Washington: US President Donald Trump spoke to Russian President Vladimir Putin over the phone on Sunday to discuss the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. The conversation lasted for more than two hours.

According to Putin, a ceasefire could be possible if the agreements are implemented properly. He added that lasting peace can only be achieved by addressing the root causes of the war.

Earlier, Trump had a brief phone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

This marks the third time Trump has spoken with Putin since taking office.
