Trump to hold talks with Xi Jinping amid trade tensions
Washington: US President Donald Trump is set to hold talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping in the coming hours, according to a Wall Street Journal reporter on X. The report cited White House trade adviser Peter Navarro.
A day earlier, Trump warned that he may impose tariffs higher than the previous 10% on Chinese imports, stating that such measures are necessary to balance US-China trade relations.
Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, he defended the tariffs as part of his economic strategy.
