US Border Security releases video of deported Indians in handcuffs, sparks outrage

Washington: The United States Customs and Border Protection (USBP) has released video footage showing Indian nationals being deported in handcuffs via military transport, triggering widespread anger in India.

USBP chief Michael W. Banks shared the footage on Thursday, stating that the deportation was the “farthest deportation flight ever made using military transport.”

“This mission demonstrates our commitment to enforcing immigration laws and ensuring the swift removal of people who have come illegally. If you cross the border illegally, you will be expelled from the country,” Banks wrote.

The images of deported Indians being restrained have drawn sharp criticism, with many questioning the use of such measures. Officials in India have yet to respond to the development.
