US President Biden faces first lawsuit over crackdown on asylums at the border

Washington: A group of immigrant rights organizations sued the U.S. administration today over President Joe Biden’s recent directive.

Biden effectively banned the entry of refugees at the southern border, a move the group opposes, claiming it is no different from the steps taken during the Trump administration.

Similarly, the courts had stayed the decision. The lawsuit was filed by the American Civil Liberties Union and others on behalf of the Los Americas Immigrant Advocacy Center and RAICES.
