Vehicle rams into crowd at Filipina festival in Canada, several killed

Toronto: A vehicle ploughed into a crowd of hundreds gathered for a traditional festival celebrated by the Filipina community in Canada today, killing several people and injuring dozens.

Witnesses said the vehicle crushed people over a distance before coming to a halt.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, British Columbia Chief Minister David Abby, and the city’s Mayor Ken Sim have expressed grief over the tragic incident.

Following the crash, police and rescue teams rushed to the scene and began transporting the injured to hospitals. However, reports said that even two hours after the incident, all the injured could not be shifted to medical facilities.
