470 crores spent on Hamirpur Medical College, 85 crores released for Cancer Institute: Chief Minister
The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of the proposed Navjeevan Park at Hadeta at a cost of Rs four crore
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu today laid the foundation stone of the proposed Economic Development and Livelihood Generation Project (Navjeevan) at a cost of Rs 4 crore in Hadeta of Naidun Assembly constituency. Under this project, children’s park, walking trail, yoga facility, cafeteria, watch and video conferencing will be constructed. Other facilities including a tower and three cottages will be constructed. The project will promote eco-tourism in the area, providing employment opportunities to the local people and increasing their income.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that Hadeta in Naidun area has the densest forest, that is why this area has been selected to build a park. He said that roads are being doubled in the entire Hamirpur. Along the Galod-Bhatta road -Along with this, other roads of the area are also being made double lanes. He said that after education, the present government is now working to make Hamirpur a leader in the health sector. So far, Rs 470 crore has been spent on Dr. Radhakrishnan Hamirpur Medical College has been spent. In future, a state of the art cancer institute is going to be built here for which Rs. 85 crore has been sanctioned.
Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that the previous BJP government weakened government institutions by opening them without staff and resources but the state government is improving it. He said that Rs 1500 crore was sanctioned to install state-of-the-art machines in health institutions. He said that these health facilities will help in accurate identification of the disease and people will get cheap and better treatment. PET scan will be installed at IGMC Shimla with Rs 27 crore and at Tanda, Hamirpur, Nerchowk Medical College and Atal Super Specialty Medical Institute Chamiyana. ‘3-Tesla’ MRI machines are being installed.
He said that unprecedented changes are taking place in the field of education in the state so that children can get quality education in government institutions. For this, Rajiv Gandhi day-boarding schools are being opened in every assembly constituency in a phased manner. He said that For electoral gains, the previous BJP government distributed freebies worth Rs 5,000 crore and subsidies were also given to the affluent. He said that the present state government is working for the public interest and not for the election. He said that no party is working for the welfare of the people. The state’s wealth will not be allowed to be looted and the state government is committed to improving the living standards of the people. He said that the poor will not be affected by these decisions of the state government. The state government is ensuring uniform development of the state. And in the coming times, Himachal Pradesh will become self-reliant.
The Chief Minister said that the people of the area have been blessing him for the last 20 years. He said that when 12 Panchayats of Galod were included in Naidun Assembly constituency after delimitation, the people here used to say that there has never been a minister from the area, but Today you have got a Chief Minister.
Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu announced to open a new Patwar Circle in Hadeta as well as build a new Panchayat House. He said that sufficient budget will be provided to improve the roads and drinking water facilities in the area. Earlier, the local people had met the Chief Minister was warmly welcomed and felicitated by various delegations.
On this occasion, Chairman of Kangra Cooperative Bank Kuldeep Singh Pathania, Chairman of Kangra Cooperative Primary Agriculture and Rural Development Bank Ram Chandra Pathania, Congress leaders Dr. Pushpendra Verma, Suman Bharti, Captain Prithvi Chand, Captain Prem Chand, representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions and others were present.
