AAP GOVT’s MEGA CLEANLINESS DRIVE; MLAS, MINISTERS & VOLUNTEERS JOIN HANDS TO CLEAN THE CITY

MINISTER HARDEEP SINGH MUNDIAN APPLAUDS SANITATION WORKERS FOR THEIR HARDWORK IN MAKING THE CITY CLEAN

 

Chandigarh/Ludhiana, April 26:

Reiterating Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab government’s commitment to ensure proper sanitation and hygiene, Cabinet Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian alongwith all the city MLAs and Mayor launched massive cleanliness drive across the Ludhiana city on Saturday.

Punjab Housing and Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian launched the drive from Jamalpur chowk, Chandigarh road, while the city MLAs launched the drive from their respective constituencies.

Ludhiana South MLA Rajinder Pal Kaur Chhina launched the drive from Dholewal chowk, while Atam Nagar MLA Kulwant Singh Sidhu launched the drive from Bhagwan Chowk, Gill road. Similarly, Ludhiana Central MLA Ashok Prashar Pappi launched the drive from Shagun palace and Ludhiana North MLA Madan Lal Bagga launched the drive from Bal Singh Nagar. Ludhiana East MLA Daljit Singh Bhola Grewal and Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur launched the drive from Vardhman chowk, Chandigarh road. Councillors including Aman Bagga, Nidhi Gupta among others also participated in the cleanliness drives.

Working on the directions of MC Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal, MC Additional Commissioner Paramdeep Singh, Joint Commissioners Ankur Mahindroo and Abhishek Sharma, Zonal Commissioners Neeraj Jain and Gurpal Singh among other civic body officials also participated in the cleanliness drive.

Under this massive cleanliness drive, all the wards of the city would be covered in the coming days. Apart from cleaning roads, parks etc, the concerned staff of civic body has also been directed to clean sewer lines/road gullies, wherever required, so that residents should not face any trouble during the summer season. Fogging would also be conducted to keep the residents safe from vector borne diseases. The cleanliness drive, spearheaded by the state government, will include regular sanitation activities, waste management programs, and community engagement efforts across Ludhiana.

In a heartfelt gesture to Ludhiana’s unsung heroes, Cabinet Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian personally distributed tea and sweets among sanitation workers while launching the major cleanliness drive from Jamalpur Chowk on Saturday morning.

The Minister lauded the tireless efforts of sanitation workers in maintaining the city’s hygiene.

Cabinet Minister Mundian, all the city MLAs and Mayor appealed to all residents of Ludhiana to join hands in this noble endeavor. By actively participating in the cleanliness drive, segregating waste, and adopting eco-friendly practices, citizens can contribute to making Ludhiana a model of cleanliness and greenery, they added.

They appealed to the public to support the state government and local authorities in keeping the city clean by not dumping waste at open spaces/plots. They urged the residents to join hands for making this drive to ensure cleanliness a public movement.
