GST Department Launches Special Drive for Service Tax Dealer Registratio

Patiala, January 10:
The GST Department has initiated a special drive to conduct a comprehensive survey of service tax dealers with the aim of widening the tax base. Divulging details, Assistant Commissioner State Tax Patiala, Kanu Garg, stated that the campaign commenced on January 10, 2025, and will continue until February 10, 2025, in compliance with directives issued by the GST Department.

Ms Kanu Garg emphasized that all service providers with an annual turnover exceeding ₹20 lakh are required to register under GST as per government regulations.

In a meeting with various trade associations and professional stakeholders, the ACST Kanu Garg highlighted the department’s efforts to raise awareness about GST registration. She further informed that an extensive field survey has been launched to identify service tax dealers who are liable to register under GST.

The department urges all eligible service providers to ensure compliance and take advantage of this special drive to register under GST added Kanu Garg.
