Man kidnapped son of middleman after his NRI wife refused to invite him to England.

Punjab E News (Chandigarh):-  Sangrur police have booked a man for allegedly kidnapping a son of a middleman after his NRI wife refused to invite him to England, police said. 

    Groom's family had reportedly spent a hefty fee on procuring a study visa for the woman.

     Police have rescued the victim and registered a case at the city police station.

     According to the police, the accused has been identified as Harwinder Singh (26) of Bedrukhan village in Sangrur while the victim was identified as Karanbir Singh, resident of Kanjhla.

     Police said that Lakhwinder Singh, who is father of victim, helped Harwinder Singh to marry a woman three years back.

    “The accused family had spent around Rs 26 lakh on marriage and procuring a study visa for the woman. She had sent sponsorship to him twice but his visa got rejected both times. Therefore, he was demanding his money back from the middleman and his laws,” said Cheema.

      Cheema further informed, “On Wednesday night, Karanbir was returning to his home from Sangrur when Harwinder kidnapped him and allegedly demanded Rs 26 lakh from the middleman. They lodged a complaint in the morning and we immediately rescued the victim.”
