16-year-old youth shot dead in Delhi’s Jafrabad

New Delhi: A 16-year-old youth was shot dead outside a garment shop in Delhi’s Jafrabad area, police said on Friday. The FIR was registered on the complaint of the boy’s elder brother, who said the victim, his friend and some people attacked him when he was coming out of the shop after buying some T-shirts, police said.

The victim and the attackers are residents of either Welcome or Kabir Nagar area and know each other, police said. The incident took place around 9.35 pm on Thursday near Markazi Chowk in Jafrabad, police said.

According to police, the boy was shot in the back and died during treatment at GTB Hospital. The cause of the incident is being ascertained and CCTV footage is being scanned to trace the accused, police said.
