18 BJP MLAs suspended from Assembly in Jharkhand
Jharkhand: As many as 18 Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs have been suspended from the Assembly till 2 pm on August 2 for their “intolerable behaviour”. During this time, they were taken out with the help of marshals when he refused to leave the House.
Assembly Speaker Rabindra Nath Mahto took action against the BJP members a day after he created a ruckus in the House against the evicting of opposition MLAs by marshals.
The Speaker said he was forced to suspend the 18 BJP MLAs as they had committed hooliganism and violation of the dignity of the House.
Leader of Opposition Amar Kumar Bauri alleged that while there was a dictatorship in Jharkhand, BJP MLAs did not throw bombs in the House like revolutionaries did in the Delhi Assembly in 1929.
He said action has been taken against the BJP MLAs at the behest of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha government.
