18-year-old woman, cousin commit suicide in UP over love affair

Shahjahanpur: A cousin and sister allegedly committed suicide by hanging themselves together over a love affair in Shahjahanpur district, police said on Sunday.

Kuldeep (20), a resident of Astoli village, was having an affair with an 18-year-old girl from his uncle’s daughter.

When the family members came to know about this, they scolded both of them and five months ago Kuldeep got married somewhere else. The marriage of the girl was also fixed by her family members and there was a wedding ceremony on Friday.

The baraat was scheduled to arrive on July 9. During this time, both of them committed suicide by hanging themselves with the same saree in the girl’s house.
