93 gallantry awards for armed forces in R-Day awards list
New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu has approved gallantry awards for 93 armed forces personnel on the eve of Republic Day, recognizing their exceptional courage and service.
Major highlights:
Kirti Chakra: India’s second-highest peacetime gallantry award was posthumously conferred on Major Manjit of 22 Rashtriya Rifles and Naik Dilwar Khan of 28 Rashtriya Rifles.
Shaurya Chakra: Fourteen personnel were honored, including three posthumously.
Recipients: Major Ashish Dahiya (50 Rashtriya Rifles), Major Kunal (1 RR), Major Satinder Dhankar (4 RR), Captain Deepak Singh (48 RR, posthumously), and Assistant Commandant Asunthung Kikon (4 Assam Rifles).
Others include Subedar Vikas Tomar (1 Para), Subedar Mohan Ram (20 Jat Regiment), Havildar Rohit Kumar Dogra (posthumously), Havildar Prakash Tamang (32 RR), Flight Lieutenant Aman Singh Hans, Corporal Dabhi Sanjay Hifabai Issa, Vijayan Kutty Ji (posthumously), Deputy Commandant Vikrant Kumar (CRPF), and Inspector Jeffrey Hinchu.
Additionally, 66 Sena Medals, including seven posthumous awards, two Navy Medals (Gallantry), and eight Sena Medals (Gallantry) were approved.
The President also sanctioned 305 defense assessments for armed forces and other personnel, further recognizing their outstanding contributions. The awards ceremony will take place at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
