AAP Rreleases second list of candidates for Delhi Assembly Elections
New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday announced its second list of 20 candidates for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. The list includes prominent names and some significant changes in constituencies.
Former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, previously representing Patparganj, will now contest from Jangpura. The party has fielded UPSC teacher Avadh Ojha for the Patparganj seat. Ojha, who joined AAP on December 2, marks a fresh face for the constituency.
The party also made a key change in Timarpur, cancelling the ticket of sitting MLA Dilip Pandey. He has been replaced by Surinderpal Singh Bittu, a recent BJP defector who joined AAP just two days ago.
AAP had earlier released its first list on November 21, naming 11 candidates, including six individuals who switched from the BJP and Congress.
The current Delhi Assembly term ends on February 23, 2025. In the last elections held in February 2020, AAP secured a landslide victory, winning 62 out of 70 seats. The BJP claimed 8 seats, while the Congress failed to win any.
