Akal Takht Jathedar gives one week ultimatum to UP CM Yogi Adityanath, read
Chandigarh: Taking cognisance of the kidnapping and rape case of minor daughter of a Granthi Singh in Pilibhit district of Uttar Pradesh, the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Raghbir Singh has given one week ultimatum to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to arrest all the accused persons involved in this heinous crime or the Sikh Sangat would be forced to take strict action at its own level.
It has been brought to notice by the Sikh Sangat in UP that in a highly unacceptable crime a 13-year-old daughter of Granthi Singh was kidnapped and raped by some persons in Pilibhit district. The survivor girl has identified the accused persons in her statement before the magistrate and the UP Sikh Sangat alleged that the local police is helping some of the wealthy accused persons while stating it clearly that no action would be taken against them.
Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh said this in strong terms that the entire Sikh community is standing with the victim family and the UP police should not adopt a negligent approach in this case. The Jathedar said that UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath makes big claims that one who commits crime against daughter at one Chowk in UP is shot at another. The Jathedar questioned that why the law is not taking proper action in the kidnapping and rape case of a daughter of Granthi Singh? The Jathedar asked the UP Government to immediately take action against all the accused persons involved in this case or the Sikh community would be forced to take action at its own level. The Jathedar added that if need be he would himself lead for taking justice in this case and the responsibility of results would solely be of the UP Government.
