Amid protest, Rahul Gandhi promises MSP law for farmers
New Delhi: Farmers protesting in Delhi and adjoining states for various demands, including a law for minimum support price, are being stopped by the administration. Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has made a significant announcement.
Issuing the first guarantee of the Congress during the farmers’ protest, he stated that if a Congress government is formed at the Center, the minimum support price will be determined according to the Swaminathan Commission’s recommendations.
Rahul Gandhi, currently in Chhattisgarh for the Congress’s Bharat Jodo Nya Yatra, said, “Farmers in the country are not receiving what they rightfully deserve. That’s why they are heading towards Delhi, only to be met with resistance. Tear gas shells are being fired at them. The farmers assert that they should reap the fruits of their hard work.”
