Amid tension with Pakistan, Nationwide civil defence mock drill in 244 districts on May 7
New Delhi: The Union Home Ministry has ordered mock drills in 244 districts across the country on May 7 to assess the effectiveness of civil defence preparedness.
The Centre on Monday said the nationwide drill will be conducted in several states, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, and West Bengal. Chandigarh and Shimla will also take part in the exercise.
The decision comes amid heightened security across the country following the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 26 people.
