Andhra Pradesh to set up a special corporation for the welfare of Sikhs and abolish property tax on gurdwaras
Amaravati: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has directed gurdwaras in the state to be exempted from property tax as well as granthis to give all the benefits that are being given to priests, priests and clerics.
Along with this, the Chief Minister also announced the setting up of a special corporation for the welfare of the Sikh community in the state.
A delegation of the Sikh community, led by Andhra Pradesh State Minority Commission member Jatinderjit Singh, met Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at his camp office here and asked him to take steps to form a corporation for Sikhs and their respective communities.
Considering their request, the Chief Minister has approved the formation of a committee for the Sikhs. The Chief Minister also agreed to declare Guru Nanak Jayanti as a holiday on the full moon day of Katak.
