Delhi minister Kailash Gahlot was on Friday relieved of the law and justice portfolio. The charge of the law department has been entrusted to Atishi. Officials gave this information. A day earlier, Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena had called for files related to judicial infrastructure and administration in the city, as these files were pending with Kailash Gahlot for several months.
Officials said the Chief Minister’s Office has written to the LG office recommending Atishi to be given the charge of the law department and it has been approved by Lt Governor Vinay Saxena. The Aam Aadmi Party government has not officially reacted to this.
