Baba Siddique murder: Conspiracy planned months in advance, Mumbai Crime Branch reveals key details
Mumbai: Shocking revelations have emerged in the investigation of senior NCP leader Baba Siddique’s murder.
According to the Mumbai Crime Branch, the conspiracy to kill Siddique began three months prior to the incident, with the accused visiting his house multiple times without weapons. The entire plot was allegedly planned in Pune.
So far, the Crime Branch has recorded statements from over 15 individuals, including eyewitnesses present at the scene.
The fourth accused arrested, Harish, is said to have acted as a middleman, facilitating the payment of Rs 2 lakh to shooters Gurmail Singh and Dharamraj Kashyap.
The funds were delivered by Praveen and Shubham Lonkar, with Shubham currently absconding. Harish, who had been residing in Pune for nine years, also provided the shooters with two mobile phones to carry out the crime.
Investigators found that the accused used social media platforms, including Snapchat for chatting and Instagram for making calls, to coordinate.
Shockingly, the shooters, Gurmail and Dharamraj, reportedly learned how to fire guns by watching YouTube videos and practiced shooting without magazines in Kurla and Pune.
Mumbai Police have recovered a 7.62 mm gun from a black bag linked to the case and are now investigating the possible involvement of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Shubham Lonkar, who referenced the Bishnoi gang in a Facebook post, is still on the run. The police have arrested four suspects so far, while three others remain at large.
A manhunt for the remaining accused is underway.
