Bhindranwale flag row: Aman Sood summoned over Manikaran Valley dispute

Shimla: Hotelier Aman Sood has been summoned for allegedly disturbing public peace and religious harmony in Himachal Pradesh’s Manikaran Valley, police said on Saturday. He appeared before the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) court in Kullu today and submitted his reply.

The SDM court initiated action against Sood following a complaint by the state government, directing him to appear. The summons warned that failure to comply would result in legal action.

After filing his response, Sood said that instead of questioning forces working against Hindu-Sikh unity, authorities were asking him to explain. He maintained that he had done nothing to disturb the peace.

Sood recently came under scrutiny after Sikh tourists’ flags were removed in Kullu, triggering controversy in Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.

The Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib strongly condemned the incident and urged the Himachal Pradesh government to take appropriate action.
