Bird flu outbreaks in Kerala’s Alappuzha
New Delhi: Cases of bird flu have been reported in Alappuzha, Kerala. Bird flu has been confirmed in pet ducks in ward-1 area of Adathava gram panchayat and ward 3 of Cheruthana Grama Panchayat, officials said.
After the ducks showed symptoms of the disease, their samples were tested at a laboratory in Bhopal, after which they were confirmed to have ‘bird flu’.
In addition, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate as per the action plan of the Government of India, in which it was decided to start the process of culling domestic birds within a radius of one kilometer of the affected area.
