BJP, AAP councillor clash in MCD House

New Delhi: After the mayoral election in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on Wednesday, the election of the standing committee started on Wednesday evening. After this, there was a ruckus in the House. AAP and BJP members started assaulting each other.

Both of them kicked and punched each other. Bottles were thrown in the House and the ballot box was overturned.
“BJP councillors tried to attack me. This is a continuation of BJP’s hooliganism, they tried to attack a woman mayor,” newly elected AAP mayor Shelly Oberoi said.
The ruckus continued in the House till late Wednesday night. Councillors from both sides fell asleep in the House. Its pictures also came out. The mayhem is expected in the House on Thursday as well.
