BJP candidate checks voter IDs of Burqa-Clad women at Hyderabad, case registered

Hyderabad: An FIR has been registered against BJP’s Hyderabad Lok Sabha candidate Madhavi Latha.

The case has been registered at Malakpet police station under sections 171C, 186, 505(1)(c) of the IPC and section 132 of the Representation of the People Act.

A video of Madhavi Lata checking the identity cards of Muslim women during a visit to a polling booth has gone viral on social media.

In the video, BJP candidate Madhavi Lata can be seen asking Muslim women inside the polling booth to remove the burqa and checking their identity cards. Not only this, she is also asking them to reveal their identity.
