BJP MLA arrested for issuing death threats to liquor vendor

New Delhi: Munirathna, the BJP MLA from Rajeshwari Nagar (RR Nagar) constituency in Karnataka, was today arrested for allegedly issuing death threats to a contractor and making casteist remarks against the Vokkaliga and Dalit communities.

An audio clip of Munirathna allegedly making casteist remarks against Vokkaligas and Dalits while threatening to kill the contractor had also gone viral.

Munirathna was arrested from Nangali village near Mulbagal town in Kolar district. Police said he was trying to flee towards Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh. The Kolar police traced Maniratna through his phone location and handed him over to the Bengaluru police after his arrest.
