BJP releases first part of Delhi manifesto; announces women-centric schemes

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has unveiled the first segment of its manifesto for Delhi, with party president JP Nadda leading the announcement.

The manifesto focuses heavily on women-centric welfare initiatives and promises immediate implementation upon forming the government.

Key among the promises is the Mahila Samridhi Yojana, under which every woman in Delhi will receive ₹2,500 per month.

Nadda assured that the first cabinet meeting will pass this scheme, emphasizing that “Modi’s guarantee means guarantee of fulfillment.”

Citing similar programs in BJP-ruled states, Nadda highlighted schemes such as the ₹1,250 monthly assistance under Mahila Samman Nidhi in Madhya Pradesh, ₹1,000 per month in Chhattisgarh, and ₹2,100 per month in Haryana.

Additionally, under the PM Matritva Vandan Yojana, ₹5,000 is provided for a woman’s first delivery and ₹6,000 for the second child.

 

Other announcements include:

Subsidized LPG cylinders: ₹500 subsidy for poor women and free cylinders during Holi and Diwali.

Matru Suraksha Vandan Yojana: Six nutrition kits for pregnant women and ₹21,000 financial assistance.

Affordable meals: Launch of the Atal Canteen Scheme offering meals for ₹5, targeting slum dwellers.

Senior citizen insurance: ₹10 lakh coverage for elderly individuals above 70 years.

Pensions and health benefits: ₹3,000 monthly pension for disabled individuals and widows; Ayushman Bharat health coverage of ₹5 lakh for Delhi residents.

Nadda also highlighted the Modi government’s track record, stating it had lifted 25 crore people out of poverty and extended maternity leave from 12 weeks to 26 weeks to support women empowerment.
