BJP withdraws its candidate from Sirsa assembly constituency
New Delhi: On the last day of withdrawal of nomination papers for the Haryana Assembly elections, BJP candidate from Sirsa assembly constituency, Rohtash Jangra, withdrew his nomination papers today.
Talking to reporters on the occasion, Rohtash Jangra said that he has done as he has been ordered from top party leadership.
Asked about his support to Gopal Kanda, he said, “It will be done as there is an order from above.” He also said that “Kanda had supported us for five years” and the decision was taken in the interest of Sirsa’s development.
Speaking on the occasion, senior BJP leader and former MP Ashok Tanwar said that the only aim of the NDA is that the BJP should form its government in Haryana under the leadership of Naib Singh Saini for the third time.
On the question of supporting Kanda, he said a meeting of party leaders will be held at the BJP office in this regard and a decision will be taken in the meeting.
Similarly, the BJP, like the Congress, will contest only 89 of the 90 seats in the state assembly. The Congress has left the Bhiwani seat for the CPM.
