Bomb explodes in Bengaluru café, 9 injured

New Delhi: The blast at a café in Kundalahalli, Bengaluru (Rameshwaram Cafe Blast), was indeed a bomb blast, as confirmed by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

“Nine people were injured in the bomb blast at a popular restaurant in Kundalahalli in Bengaluru today,” he said. Additionally, CCTV footage captured the incident, showing a cloud of smoke and chaos after a loud explosion.

Following the blast, authorities initiated investigations to determine the cause. Upon the arrival of the anti-terror National Investigation Agency (NIA), bomb disposal squad, and forensic team, the Chief Minister informed reporters that an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was used in the attack on the café.

Earlier statements by Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara acknowledged the blast and emphasized ongoing investigations by police and forensic teams. He mentioned that no serious injuries were reported among the nine individuals harmed in the blast.

Further investigations are underway to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident, including the possibility of an IED being placed at the café. The police department assures a thorough investigation, with hopes of clarifying the situation soon.
