CBI arrests Power Grid senior GM for alleged bribery

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Uday Kumar, senior general manager of Power Grid Corporation of India, for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 2.5 lakh from an executive officer of Mumbai-based KEC International, officials said on Friday.

Kumar, who was posted in Ajmer, Rajasthan, was arrested on Thursday along with Suman Singh of KEC International in Sikar, where they had allegedly agreed to exchange the bribe amount.

Officials said five individuals and KEC International have been named as accused in the FIR.

KEC International vice-president and north India head Jabraj Singh is also among the accused. The company has not issued an immediate response.
