CBI files closure report in Sushant Singh Rajput case
New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a closure report in the alleged suicide case of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, officials said on Saturday.
The agency submitted the report before a special court in Mumbai, which will decide whether to accept it or direct further investigation.
Rajput, 34, was found hanging in his apartment in Mumbai’s Bandra area on June 14, 2020. The CBI took over the probe from Bihar Police after his father, K.K. Singh, filed a complaint alleging abetment to suicide.
Forensic experts at AIIMS, in their conclusive medico-legal report to the CBI, ruled out claims of poisoning and strangulation. The agency had arrested Rajput’s alleged girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty, along with others during the investigation.
