CBSE will not give division and distinction in class 10 and +2 board exams
New Delhi: No division (category) or distinction (special qualification) will be given in class 10 and 12 board exams, a Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) official said today.
“No entire division, special qualification or aggregate marks will be awarded,” the board’s controller of examinations, Sanyam Bhardwaj, said. If a candidate has taken the exam for more than five subjects then the admission institution or employer may decide to consider the best five subjects for him.
The board does not calculate, declare or notify the percentage of marks. If the percentage of marks is necessary for higher education or employment, the calculation can be done by the institution or employer giving admission.
