Centre approves setting up of industrial corridors in 12 cities including Rajpura

New Delhi: The central government has approved the setting up of 12 new industrial corridors on the lines of Greater Noida (UP) and Dholera (Gujarat).

These new industrial cities include Rajpura in Punjab and an estimated investment of Rs 28,602 crore in these industrial areas will give a boost to local production (manufacturing).

These industrial corridors will be built in Khurpia in Uttarakhand, Rajpura in Punjab (Patiala district), Khari in Maharashtra, Palakkad in Kerala, Agra and Prayagraj in UP, Gaya in Bihar, Zaheerabad in Telangana, Orvakal and Koparathi in Andhra Pradesh, Jodhpur-Pali in Rajasthan and one in Haryana.

The decision to set up new industrial hubs was taken at a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi here today.
