Centre issues notice to Punjab government over IVF treatment of Sidhu Moosewala’s mother
New Delhi: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has requested a report from the Punjab government regarding the In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) treatment of Charan Kaur, the mother of late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, and has asked for it to be submitted to the department.
“Under Section 21(g)(i) of the Assisted Reproductive Technology (Regulation) Act, 2021, the prescribed age limit for women undergoing ART services is between 21 and 50 years.”
Recently, Balkaur Singh and Charan Kaur, the parents of late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, welcomed a baby boy on Sunday, nearly two years after the singer’s murder in Punjab.
In a video posted on Facebook, Balkaur Singh expressed his frustration with the ongoing investigation and lashed out at the Punjab government. He said that he possesses all the necessary legal documents and would provide the authorities soon.
In his Facebook post, Balkaur Singh stated, “With the blessings of millions of souls who love Shubhdeep, the Almighty has blessed us with Shubh’s younger brother. However, I am facing harassment from the government to prove my legal status.”
He said , “I would like to request CM (Bhagwant Mann) to allow me to seek medical treatment first, and then I will comply with any government inquiries. As an ex-serviceman, I have no intention of evading the law. I possess all the required legal documents and I am prepared to provide them. However, if the authorities doubt me, they are welcome to file an FIR.”
