Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express derails in Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda; one death; Six injured

New Delhi: The Chandigarh-Dibrugarh train derailed on the Gonda-Manakpur section. It is learnt that the accident took place around 2.30 pm.

According to the Gonda Commissioner, one passenger was reported dead in the accident. Six other passengers were also injured.

Eight to ten coaches of this train have been found to be derailed. The movement of several trains on this route has been reported to have been affected due to this accident.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered officials to immediately rush to the spot and start relief work for the injured. The train, which runs from Chandigarh twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays, is reported to be running from Chandigarh late on Wednesday night.
