CJI refuses to comment on new criminal laws
New Delhi: Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud has refused to comment on the new criminal laws that came into force from July 1, saying issues related to these laws are pending in the Supreme Court.
He said, “It has nothing to do with the event they have come to attend… These are issues that are pending before the Supreme Court and possibly other high courts and they will not comment on the matter. I will not comment on the matter.”
He attended the foundation stone laying ceremony for the construction of three additional court buildings at Karkardooma, Shastri Park and Rohini in the national capital.
