Cold wave grips northern region after snowfall in Himachal Pradesh
New Delhi: A cold wave has intensified across Punjab, Chandigarh, and Haryana following snowfall in Himachal Pradesh, leading to a significant drop in nighttime temperatures.
In Himachal Pradesh, Tabo in Lahaul-Spiti recorded a minimum temperature of 12.7 degrees Celsius, while Manali and Shimla reported lows of 2.8 degrees Celsius and minus 2.2 degrees Celsius, respectively.
The meteorological department has warned that the cold wave may strengthen in the coming days.
Meanwhile, the Himachal Pradesh government has issued safety advisories for tourists traveling to high-altitude areas, urging them to exercise caution.
