Congress leader Himani Narwal found dead in suitcase in Rohtak, BJP government under fire

Rohtak: Congress leader Himani Narwal was found murdered in Rohtak, Haryana, with her body discovered inside a suitcase near Sampla on Saturday morning. Initially treated as an unclaimed body, Congress MLA Bharat Bhushan Batra later identified it as Narwal’s.

Narwal, an active participant in Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, had been involved in Congress campaigns for leaders such as Deepender Hooda and Bhupinder Hooda. Following the incident, Batra demanded a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the murder.

Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda called the killing “sad and shocking,” criticizing the state’s law and order situation. He urged a high-level investigation and strict punishment for those responsible.

Meanwhile, the Congress has accused the ruling BJP government of failing to ensure safety in the state. Police have launched an investigation into the case.
