Consensus reached between India and Pakistan on hybrid model for 2025 Champions Trophy
New Delhi: Top officials of the International Cricket Council (ICC) are set to finalise details of the hybrid model for the 2025 Champions Trophy during a virtual meeting with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Mohsin Naqvi on Saturday.
In a significant development, it has been agreed in principle that India and Pakistan will not travel to each other’s countries for ICC tournaments. Instead, matches between the two nations during the Champions Trophy will take place in Dubai.
The tournament, scheduled to run from February 19 to March 9, will feature eight teams divided into two groups, with the top two from each group advancing to the semi-finals.
The PCB has expressed its willingness to approve the hybrid model but has called for uniform arrangements to be implemented for all future ICC tournaments involving India and Pakistan.
